Behdad Lahouti, born in 1976 is a contemporary sculptor based in Tehran. He launched his professional career in 1996. After participating in Mr. Parviz Tanavoli’s masterclasses in 2014. He established his own artistic career by producing a series of sculptures using various materials, but with new methods including advanced technology.

Aesthetics and concept play major roles in his creative process. The style and components of his works vary greatly through the different stages of his career, and it is challenging to consider them all as fitting into a single genre.

The artist himself insists that his works are neither deterministic nor symbolic. A diversity of themes such as events, thoughts, social criticism, inner world and nature can be found in his works ‘Autumn’,‘Okra’,‘Changak‘ and Boabab Seeds.‘

In the series ‘Device’ (2017) he presents his artwork in the form of an installation. He encourages his audience to interact each time with a deeper approach to his artworks.

Lahouti is a member of the Association of Iranian Sculptors, has fully engaged himself in many

projects and has organized various exhibitions for young and emerging artists.
